Mystery Science Theater 3000 Top 10
Bryan Terry conveniently links to the top 10 Mystery Science Theater 3000 shows from this post. These are the best-worst, in his humble opinion, as they are available on Google Video, which unfortunately, does not include all shows. So Mr. Terry was limited to those, and could not list some that we would have included on a general Top 10. Where’s The Crawling Hand? Reptilicus? The Valley of Gwangi? Actually, Hand and Reptilicus, both of which I paid a quarter to see in the theater on a Saturday afternoon as a kid, definitely qualify for MST3K treatment. But Gwangi, now, with cowboys and creatures by the master, Ray Harryhausen, well, that was merely camp, a movie which son Lance and I watched, unironically, on regular TV something like ten years ago. We later we saw it on MST3K, when they may have been scrapping the bottom of the barrel for bad films (or the top of the bottom.)
So right now I’m going to resume my viewing of The Revenge of the Creature, another one I paid big bucks to see on the big screen in the like 1964 without the commentary (25 cents American, when a quarter had some real buying power.)
Then we’ll proceed up (or down) the list.
